Q: What is Wagyu Beef?

A: Wagyu beef comes from Japanese Cattle ("Wa" meaning Japanese and "Gyu" meaning Cow). Wagyu beef is highly marbled far beyond USDA Prime, rich, flavorful beef with a butter-smooth texture that truly delivers a "melt-in-your-mouth" experience.

 

Q: Is Wagyu the same as Kobe Beef?

A: Yes and no. Kobe beef comes from a specific bloodline (Tajima) and is raised in Kobe, Japan, and must have a marbling score of 6 or higher, and a meat quality score of 4 or 5. Kobe Beef is by definition Wagyu but authentic Kobe must come from a specific region, similar to how true Champagne only comes from Champagne, France. All of Authentic Wagyu's 100% Fullblood Cattle are Tajima and are raised in Washington.

 

Q: Where do you get your beef?

A: Our Japanese A5 Wagyu is imported from the Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan. Our 100% Fullblood program is located in Enumclaw, Washington. We raise our cattle according to traditional Japanese practices and is done so by our expert herdsman who has 25 years of experience in both Japan and the US.

 

Q: When will my order arrive?

A: Once you place your order, Authentic Wagyu offers 2-day shipping. Please note that orders submitted after 12:00 pm PST will not be processed until the following day.

 

Q: How can I view my order status?

A: You can view your order status on your member's page. If you opted to not sign up with us, you will receive tracking information once we have shipped your order, in addition to a confirmation email you will receive after checkout.

 

Q: When will I be billed?

A: You will be billed upon completion of checkout. It may take upwards of an hour to appear in your account.

 

Q: Do I need to be present when my shipment arrives?

A: No, we understand that you live a busy life so we got you covered. All of our products are fully frozen and ship with dry ice and gel packs to ensure that your product stays frozen. Even on hot days, these gel packs will stay cold or frozen for hours.

Q: Where do you deliver?

A: We deliver anywhere in the United States. For Alaska and Hawaii, additional shipping fees may be added at checkout.

 

Q: Why do you need my email?

A: Authentic Wagyu needs an email on file so we can update you on the status of your orders, as well as to send you a confirmation email for your records. We also send out a monthly newsletter and random updates regarding new products, sales, or even just a friendly coupon. We are not one of those companies who will send you emails every couple of days if you choose to subscribe.

 

Q: Is my information secure?

A: Yes, the information that you provide us is SSL/TLS secure. We will not sell your information and the third-party organizations that may have access to a certain amount of information are not allowed to use it other than for purposes of fulfilling your order with Authentic Wagyu.
